2. What is my insurance coverage under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia program?

You may refer to Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Policy Wording for a full description of the terms, conditions and exclusions of cover.

3. Does Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia enforce an age limit?
+

Yes, the age of the Guest must be between 9 days and 99 years, for Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia.

4. Do I need a medical examination to apply for any of the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policies?
+

No. A medical examination is not required. However, please note that claims arising from pre-existing medical conditions are excluded under Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia.

5. Can I still buy Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I have a Pre-existing Condition?

Yes, however, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia has exclusions on Pre-existing Conditions as stated in the Full Terms and Conditions of the Policy.

"Pre-existing Condition" refers to an ongoing injury, sickness, disease, illness, dental condition or other abnormal medical conditions that existed prior to the purchase of the Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia.

6. Can I pay extra to cover pre-existing medical conditions?

No, there is no option to pay extra to obtain cover for pre-existing medical conditions under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policies.

7. Can I amend my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia (Carrier Code: AK) will expire automatically when you make any changes to your travel itinerary. You can purchase a new policy online via Manage My Booking or Web Check-In. Otherwise, you can also purchase offline at AirAsia Travel And Service Centres.

8. Can I transfer my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

You may not transfer your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia.

9. Is Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia premium refundable?
+

You have a 14-day cooling-off period after you make your purchase. You may cancel your policy by emailing us at AASaarc@asiamedassist.org within the cooling-off period. However, if your trip has commenced, there is no refund allowed.

10. Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when traveling?

No, you don't need to carry a copy of your Certificate of Insurance.

11. Am I required to carry any additional documents to prove my purchase when I am traveling?
+

No, your purchase confirmation is printed on your AirAsia Itinerary.

12. Where should I indicate my nominee for receiving benefits?
+

You don't need to indicate a nominee for your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policy. Personal Accident benefits paid due to a fatal accident will be made to the estate of the Insured while other benefits are paid directly to the Insured.

13. What happens to my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Return-Trip Plan if AirAsia reschedules my Return Flight to a later date?

Your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Return-Trip Plan is automatically extended to cover you up to a maximum of 3 days if your Return Flight is rescheduled by AirAsia to a later date.

14. How can I differentiate the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia plan that I have purchased?

Your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia plan is based on your AirAsia Flight Itinerary and your paid premium.

15. How much premium do I have to pay?

The premium varies depending on your choice of plan, destination and duration of cover selected.

You can purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia online while you are booking your flight(s) on airasia.com or through Web Check-in, Manage My Booking, or at any of our offline counters in Sri Lanka and our local Air Asia ticketing outlet.

2. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia after I make my flight booking?

Yes, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia is made available in Manage My Booking, Web Check-In or at any of our offline counters in Bangladesh.

3. Why is Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia not available during my flight purchase, Web Check-In or Manage My Booking?

It could be that you have already purchased Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia during your flight purchase, Web Check In, through Manage My Booking or at any of our sales counters. Please check your AirAsia travel Itinerary to confirm so.

4. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I am not a resident of Bangladesh?

Yes, as long as you are an AirAsia Guest departing from Bangladesh.

5. If I am traveling with my group of friends, do i need to purchase individual insurance plan?
+

If you and your friend's booking belongs to same PNR, individual plans are offered to eligible individuals. However, if you travel with a group of more than 9 individuals, you may add insurance via AirAsia Group Desk.

6. How do I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia for my accompanying infant?
+

If you purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia, your accompanying infant who must be within the age group of 9 days to 2 years is covered for Personal Accident benefit up to 10% of the sum insured for Personal Accident under your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia plan.  But the name of the infant is required once it is acknowledged that an infant is on board with the Insured Adult.

7. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I am traveling for more than 30 days?

Yes, you may purchase insurance up to 90 days (Online) and up to 30 days (Offline)

8. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia One Way coverage if I purchased a return flight ticket?
+

No, your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia plan is based on your AirAsia Travel Itinerary, if you've purchased a return ticket, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia will cover you for that particular return trip.

9. Can I purchase Insurance if I booked a One Way / Return AirAsia Fly Thru flight?

Yes, you may purchase Insurance as an add on based on your Fly-Thru itinerary.

1. If my journey involved more than 1 sector of flights, will I be covered if I missed my onward connecting flight?
+

In the event you missed your onward connecting flight (AirAsia) due to the late arrival of the incoming AirAsia flight, you are covered under the Missed Flight Connection* benefit provided you had purchased insurance for the 1st sector.

2. If a natural disaster hit the country I'm just about to visit, if I had cover under a Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policy, could I cancel my Journey and make a claim?

No, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia does not cover any voluntary trip cancellation due to natural disaster. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for more details.

3. When does my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia coverage begin?
+

The Return-Trip Plan commences when you check-in for your AirAsia Departure Flight and terminate when you have reached the flight terminal on your AirAsia Return Flight.

The One-Way Plan commences when you check-in for your AirAsia Departure Flight and terminate when you have arrived at the flight terminal of your AirAsia destination.

4. Does Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia cover professional sports and other similar activities?

Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia does not cover professional sports.  However, leisure sports are covered.  

5. Can I cancel my flight for any reason and get a refund through my Flight Cancellation Benefit?

The Flight Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for the reasons stated in the policy terms and conditions.

The reasons include unforeseen emergencies such as serious illness, injury or death involving you, your travel companion and/or an immediate family member. Pre-existing Conditions are not covered.

6. Does my Baggage Benefit cover theft?

Yes, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia covers theft of and damage to your checked-in-baggage during your scheduled trip as long as the items are not left unattended*.

7. Would a suitcase shipped home early to save costs on excess baggage be covered under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

No, any unaccompanied luggage is not covered unless transported by the carrier with whom you are travelling and arranged in conjunction with your travel ticket. *

8. Can sum insured for baggage and personal effect cover under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia be increased?
+

No, there is no option under the policies to increase the cover provided for baggage, or any of the other benefits.

9. What shall I do if I encounter an accident abroad?
+

It is important that you call these numbers for more details before you take any action. As for outpatient treatment, please retain all original receipts to substantiate your claim upon your return to Bangladesh.

10. Can I continue with my medical treatment for injuries sustained overseas when I return home?

Yes, you can continue your treatment as long as the initial treatment is received during the trip and all expenses are incurred within 30 days after the expiry of your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia. Amount claimable should not exceed 10% of sum insured for Medical Reimbursement benefit.

11. How can I claim my outpatient accidental medical expenses under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

You will be reimbursed for your medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered event as stated in the policy terms and conditions.

1. If I need treatment for an illness during my trip, can I claim for medical, hospital or any other related expenses?
+

Yes, you can claim for your sickness-related medical expenses under our Return International Plans when you are traveling with AirAsia. 

Please refer to our Policy Wording for a full description of the terms, conditions and exclusions of cover.

2. If the Customs Department were to confiscate anything from me, could I make a claim under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

No, cover for claims arising from confiscation by authorities is excluded.

3. How do I file a claim?
+

Your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia will be underwritten by Green Delta Company Insurance Limited. Please download the Claim Form at the Claims Page and upon completion, please email the completed form and claim supporting documents to AASaarc@asiamedassist.org.

4. How long does it take for processing my claims?
+

Your claims will be processed within 30 working days after you have submitted all the required documents.

5. What is the time limit for me to file a claim?
+

All claims must be submitted to AMA Assistance GmbH within 30 days after the occurrence of the event together with the supporting documents.

6. What shall I do if I disagree with a claim decision made?
+

Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia will advise you in writing of your rights to appeal the claim decision and the procedures for filing an appeal with Green Delta Company Insurance Limited.

7. I am not a resident of Bangladesh. How do I get my claim reimbursement?

You may opt to receive your reimbursement via bank draft or telegraphic transfer. Kindly be advised that any cost, charges and/or fees in relation to overseas bank remittance and/or issuance of bank draft in respect of the settlement of your claim shall be borne solely by you.

1. Are there any travel requirements I need to be aware of?
+

Yes, some countries have specific requirements. We have compiled a list of the summarized regulations for Thailand and Singapore below.

As the travel requirements worldwide continue to change from time to time, there are times when the information stated below might not be up-to-date and may be obsolete at the time you are viewing it.

Therefore, for the latest information on your destination, we strongly encourage you to check the travel restrictions directly with the respective government of your destination country / state prior to purchasing the travel protection from us.

2. Which countries currently have travel requirements?

Thailand

Due to COVID-19, Thailand has imposed several travel restrictions and requirements. All Thai and foreign nationals planning to enter the country must provide the following documentation:

  1. Certificate of Entry (COE) certifying that the person is allowed to enter the Kingdom, issued by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate.
  2. A Fit to Fly health certificate attesting that the traveler is fit to travel, issued within 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The certificate must be in English.
  3. Medical certificate attesting that the traveler is free from COVID-19, issued within 72 hours from the date of arrival.
  4. An insurance policy that covers healthcare & treatment expenses for COVID-19, with a minimum coverage amount of USD $100,000.

Singapore

  1. Starting 31st January 2021, Singapore requires all visitors to have a travel insurance policy that provides medical coverage for COVID-19 of at least SGD 30,000.The policy can be purchased from any Singapore-based or overseas insurer.
  2. Travellers who are not Singaporean Citizens or Permanent Residents and have recent travel history to high-risk countries/regions are required to take a COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test within 72 hours prior to departure.
  3. Starting 24th January 2021, all travellers including Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents must take a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival in Singapore. They are then required to serve 14 days quarantine upon arrival in Singapore.
  4. Starting 18th January 2021, all returning Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents from the United Kingdom and South Africa will be subject to an additional 7-day self-isolation.
