1. Who provides my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia insurance coverage?

Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia is specially designed for AirAsia by Forte Insurance (Cambodia) PLC with your needs in mind.
2. What is my insurance coverage under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?
+
You may refer to Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Policy Wording for a full description of the terms, conditions and exclusions of cover.
3. Does Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia provide coverage for all individuals?
+
Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia provides coverage for individuals aged 9 days old and above.
4. Do I need to undergo a medical examination to apply for any of the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia plans?
+
No, a medical examination is not required. However, please note that coverage for any Pre-Existing Medical Conditions are excluded.
5. Can I still buy Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I have a Pre-existing Condition?
+
Yes, you can. However, there are exclusions on Pre-existing Conditions as stated in the policy's full Terms and Conditions and no claims will be paid in relation to the said conditions. "Pre-existing Condition" refers to injury, sickness, disease, illness or other medical conditions which existed 90 days before you purchase Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia.
6. Can I pay extra to cover pre-existing conditions?

No, there is no option to pay extra to obtain coverage for pre-existing conditions.
7. Can I amend my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policy in the event I change my AirAsia flight?
+

For short haul flights (AK, QZ, Z2, and FD), your Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia* policy will terminate if you make any changes to your AirAsia flight. You will have to repurchase travel insurance for your new itinerary.

For long haul flights (D7, XJ and XT), your Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia* policy will be automatically carried forward to your new itinerary if you make any changes to your AirAsia flight.

8. Can I transfer my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policy?

Your policy is not transferable.
9. Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when traveling?
+
You are advised to bring along your Certificate of Insurance as proof of COVID-19 insurance when you arrive at your destination country.
10. How do I nominate my nominee?

11. What happens to my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Return Trip Plan if AirAsia reschedules my Return Flight to a later date?

Your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Return Trip Plan is automatically transferred to cover your new itinerary. In the event your return flight is extended to a later date, the plan will be extended to cover you up to an additional 3 days.
12. How much premium do I have to pay?

The premium depends on your destination, plan and length of your trip.
13. What do I need to do if there are changes to my contact details?

It is important that you inform us via e-mail at enquiry@tuneprotect.com of any changes in your contact details to ensure all correspondence reach you in a timely manner.

1. How do I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

You may make your purchase while booking your flight on airasia.com. Alternatively, you may also purchase it on our website, via Manage My Booking, during Web Check-In, or at any AirAsia Sales Office.

2. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia after I make my flight booking?

Yes, you may do so via our website, via Manage My Booking, during Web Check-In or at any AirAsia Sales Office.

3. Why am I unable to purchase the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia during my flight purchase, Web Check-In or Manage My Booking?
+

You may have already purchased it during your purchased of AirAsia ticket via AirAsia website. You may check your AirAsia travel itinerary to confirm the purchase.

4. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I am not a Cambodian resident?

Yes, as long as you are an AirAsia customer departing from Cambodia.

5. If I am traveling in a group, do I need to purchase an individual insurance plan?
+

No, you do not have to purchase an individual insurance plan if you are travelling in a group with the same booking number (maximum 9 individuals). For group bookings of 10 individuals and above, you may add Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia to your flight via AirAsia Group Desk.

6. If I am travelling in a group, can I purchase an individual insurance plan for myself only?

Yes, you can. If you are on group flight booking, you can purchase an individual plan via our website at airasia.tuneprotect.com

7. How do I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia for my accompanying infant?
+

You do not have to purchase Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia if an infant is travelling with you as you are entitled for free coverage with limited benefits for 1 infant between the age of 9 days to 2 years old. You may refer to the Policy Wording for the benefits offered to the infant.

8. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I am traveling for more than 90 days?

No. Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia is only valid up to 90 days from the departure date.
9. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia One Way coverage if I purchased a return flight ticket?
+
No. Your Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia plan is based on your AirAsia Travel Itinerary. If you have purchased a return ticket, the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia will cover you for your return trip.
10. Can I purchase Insurance if I booked a One Way / Return AirAsia Fly-Thru flight?

Yes. You may purchase Insurance as an add-on based on your Fly-Thru itinerary.
Coverage

1. If my journey involves more than 1 flight, will I be covered if I miss my onward connecting flight?
+

If you miss your onward connecting AirAsia flight due to the late arrival of the incoming AirAsia flight, you are covered under the Missed Flight Connection* benefit provided you purchased insurance for the 1st flight.

2. If a natural disaster hits the country I am about to visit and I had purchased a Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policy, can I cancel my trip and make a claim?

No, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia does not cover voluntary trip cancellations due to natural disasters. Please refer to the full terms and conditions for more details.
3. When does my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia coverage begin?
+

Except for the Trip Cancellation benefit, the cover commences from Your check in at the airport on the First Departure Date for a Scheduled Flight. The cover for Trip Cancellation benefit commences twenty-four (24) hours from the purchase date of the Insurance for Your Scheduled Flight.

4. Does Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia cover professional sports?

Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia does not cover professional sports. Leisure sports are covered.

 

5. Can I cancel my flight for any reason and claim under my Trip Cancellation Benefit?
+
The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for the reasons stated in the policy terms and conditions. The reasons include unforeseen emergencies such as hospitalisation due to illness, injury or death involving you or your immediate family member. Your hospitalisation due to illness or death due to Pre-existing Conditions are not covered.
6. Does my Baggage Benefit cover theft?

Yes, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia covers theft and damage to your checked-in-baggage during your scheduled trip as long as the items* are not left unattended.

7. Would a suitcase shipped home early to save costs on excess baggage be covered under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

No. Only baggage checked in on your itinerary will be covered under your policy.
8. Can the sum insured for baggage and personal effects under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia be increased?
+
There is no option to increase the coverage provided for baggage or any of the other benefits.
9. What should I do if I encounter an accident abroad?
+

You may call the 24-hour Emergency Medical Service at +855 23962649

It is important that you call this number for more details before you take any action. Please retain all original receipts for outpatient treatments and claim them upon your return to Cambodia.

10. Can I continue with my medical treatment for injuries sustained overseas when I return to Cambodia?
+
Yes, you may continue your treatment as long as the initial treatment is received during the trip and all expenses are incurred within 30 days from the date of expiry of your plan. The amount claimable should not exceed 10% of the sum insured for Medical Expenses Reimbursement benefit.
11. Can I claim for outpatient accidental medical expenses under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

Yes, you can claim for your medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered event subject to the policy's terms and conditions.
Claims

1. If I need treatment for an illness during my trip, can I claim for medical, hospital or any other related expenses?
+
Yes, you may claim for your sickness-related medical expenses (applicable to Return Plan). Please refer to our Policy Wording for a full description of the terms, conditions and exclusions of cover.
2. If the Customs Department were to confiscate anything from me, could I make a claim under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?
+
Claims arising from confiscation by authorities are excluded.
3. How long does it will take for my claims to be processed?
+
Your claims will be processed within 30 working days after you have submitted all the required documents.
4. What is the time limit for me to submit a claim?
+
All claims must be submitted to Forte Insurance (Cambodia) PLC within 30 days after the occurrence of the event together with the supporting documents.
5. What shall I do if I disagree with a claim decision made?
+

You may write to us at travelinsurance@forteinsurance.com and we will advise you in writing on the procedures for filing an appeal with Forte Insurance (Cambodia) PLC.

6. I am not a Cambodian resident. How will I receive my claim reimbursement?
+
You may opt to receive your reimbursement via bank draft or telegraphic transfer. Kindly be advised that any cost, charges and/or fees in relation to overseas bank remittance and/or issuance of bank draft in respect of the settlement of your claim shall be borne you.
COVID-19

1. Am I covered with COVID-19 during my trip?
+

Yes, provided you choose to purchase Plus Plan which offers comprehensive COVID-19 Coverage for selected benefits.

For reimbursement of medical expenses due to COVID-19, reimbursement shall be according to the amount shown in the Schedule of Benefits up to a maximum of USD50,000 (depending on selected plan) if you contract COVID-19 and are hospitalized in the Country of Arrival for at least 48 hours.

Important Note: Please ensure that the travel insurance plan that you purchased meets the Country of Arrival’s minimum medical expenses coverage requirement.
