2. What is my insurance coverage under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia program?

Your coverage shall include the following: Personal Accident, Travel Inconvenience benefits, Medical and Evacuation Expenses and Travel Assistance Services.
3. Who can purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

Any AirAsia Guests departing FROM Hong Kong can purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia while booking their flight/s on airasia.com.

You can still purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia even if you are not originating Hong Kong and/or do not live in Hong Kong as long as you are flying out of Hong Kong.

4. Does Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia enforce an age limit?

Yes, the age of Insured Person must be at least 9 days and above to qualify for Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia.

Infants between 9 days to 24 months old travelling with an Insured Adult are covered for free! A name is not required as long as it is acknowledged that an infant is onboard with the Insured Adult. The Infant's benefit is 10% of the Personal Accident Limit.

For the Insured person 76 years and above you will receive 50% of the maximum limit in Personal Accident and Medical and Evacuation Expenses (other benefits and limit remain unchanged).

5. Can I purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I am traveling for more than 30 days?

All Return-Trip Plans for AirAsia are valid up to 90 days from the Departure Date.
6. Am I still covered by Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I catch a connecting flight to a different destination?

Under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia, air travel coverage is only limited to AirAsia flights.

For the travel insurance Return Cover Plans, the coverage for the period commencing upon arrival until departure only applies within the original country of destination on an AirAsia flight.

This call is chargeable. It is important that you call this number; covered expenses are expenses for services provided and/or arranged by AA Inter for the transportation, medical services and medical supplies necessarily incurred as a result of an accident, as detailed in your policy before taking any action.

2. Can I cancel my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

Your Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia, once issued is not cancellable.
3. Is Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia premium refundable?

Your Tune Protect Travel – AirAsia premium is non-refundable.

4. Can I amend my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

The Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia cannot be changed once your Certificate of Insurance is issued even if you are postponing or extending your trip.
5. What happens to my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Return if AirAsia reschedules my Return Flight to a later date?

Your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Return Plan is automatically extended to cover you up to a maximum of 3 days if your Return Flight is rescheduled by AirAsia to a later date.

6. Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when traveling?

No, you don't need to carry a copy of your Certificate of Insurance. All you need is your Policy Number and the 24-hour Emergency Medical Services Hotline (+852 58032270).

7. What do I do if I did not receive or lost my Certificate of Insurance?

To get a copy, simply e-mail us your Policy Number (if available), Full Name, Flight Booking Number, Travel Dates, Date of Purchase and email Address by clicking here.

8. Am I required to carry any additional documents to prove my purchase when I am traveling?

Loss or Damage to Checked-In Baggage

Trip Cancellation & Trip Curtailment

2. When does my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia coverage begin?

Except for Trip Cancellation, your coverage commences when you check-in at the Hong Kong airport for your AirAsia Departure Flight. The Trip Cancellation Benefit takes effect 24 hours from the Policy Issue Date.

3. How will my outpatient medical expenses be paid under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

You will be reimbursed for all reasonable and customary medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered accident or sickness as detailed in the terms and conditions.
4. Can I continue my medical treatment for sickness or injury sustained overseas after I return home?
+
Yes! As long as the initial treatment was received during the trip and all expenses are incurred within 3 months after your return to Hong Kong. The maximum sum payable is equivalent to 10% of the Medical Reimbursement limit.
5. If I require treatment for an illness during my trip, can I claim for medical/hospital and other related expenses?

Yes, you may. Your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia covers both illness and accident related medical expenses.
6. Does Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia cover sports and other similar activities?

As long as the activities are not Extreme sports activities or performed under competition or professional sports to earn income, they are covered without limitation or restriction. For more details, please refer to the full terms and conditions of coverage.
7. Can I cancel my AirAsia itinerary for any reason and get all my money back through my Trip Cancellation Benefit?

The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for insurable reasons indicated in the full terms and conditions. Covered reasons include unforeseen emergencies such as illness, injury or death involving you and/or an immediate family member.
8. Can I still buy Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I have a pre-existing condition?

Yes, you can, however, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia has exclusions on pre-existing conditions as detailed in the full terms and conditions. "Pre-Existing Condition" refers to any Symptom which existed before you purchased the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia.
9. Does my Loss or Damage to Checked-In Baggage Benefit cover theft?

Yes, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia covers theft (and damage due to attempted theft) as long as it occurs during your scheduled flight with AirAsia.

1. How do I file a claim?

2. How long does it take before my claims are processed?

Your claims will be processed within 7 days after you have submitted all the required documents.

3. What is the time limit for me to file a claim?

All claims must be submitted to Bolttech Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited for AirAsia Berhad (AK) flights within 30 days after the occurrence of the event together with the supporting documents.

4. I am not a resident of Hong Kong. How do I get my claim reimbursement?

You may opt to receive your reimbursement via bank draft or telegraphic transfer. Kindly be advised that any cost, charges and/or fees in relation to overseas bank remittance and/or issuance of bank draft in respect of the settlement of your claim shall be borne solely by you.
