4. Do I need a medical examination to apply for any of the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policies?

No. A medical examination is not required. However, please note that claims arising from pre-existing medical conditions are excluded under Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia, except claims arising from the approved Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. Please see FAQ 5 for more information.

5. Can I still buy Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia if I have a Pre-existing Condition?

Yes, however, Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia has exclusions on Pre-existing Conditions as stated in the policy's Full Terms and Conditions.

"Pre-existing Condition" refers to injury, sickness, disease, illness or other medical conditions that required medical treatments 90 days before you purchase Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia.

6. Can I pay extra to cover pre-existing medical conditions?

You don't need to indicate a nominee for your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policy! Flight or Personal Accident benefits paid due to a fatal accident will be made to the estate of the Insured while other benefits are paid directly to the Insured.

14. What happens to my Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia Comprehensive if AirAsia reschedules my Return Flight to a later date?

6. Can I cancel my flight for any reason and get a refund through my Trip Cancellation Benefit?

The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for the reasons stated in the policy's terms and conditions.

The reasons include unforeseen emergencies such as illness, injury or death involving you and/or an immediate family member. Pre-existing Conditions are not covered.

8. Is a video camera or any other item on loan or hire for the Journey covered?

Yes, loaned items are covered under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia policies, subject to the applicable terms, conditions and exclusions. For example, video camera equipment must accompany you as personal cabin baggage, and must not be left unattended in a public place. We regard these items as 'personal effects'. Any claim arising must first be made under the owner's insurance, if applicable.*

9. Are gifts and articles purchased during the Journey covered?

It is important that you call this number for more details before you take any action. As for outpatient treatment, please retain all original receipts and claim them upon your return to Macau.

2. Can I continue with my medical treatment for injuries sustained overseas when I return home?

Yes, you can continue your treatment as long as the initial treatment is received during the trip and all expenses are incurred within 30 days after the expiry of your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia.

1. How can I claim my outpatient accidental medical expenses under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia program?

You will be reimbursed for your medical expenses incurred as a result of a covered event as stated in the policy's terms and conditions.

2. If the Customs Department were to confiscate anything from me, could I make a claim under the Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia?

No, cover for claims arising from confiscation by authorities is excluded.

3. How do I file a claim?

Your Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia will be underwritten by Asia Insurance Co Ltd. Please download the Claim Form here and upon completion, please fax and mail the completed form and claim supporting documents to the fax number and address stated in the Claim Form.

4. How long does it take before my claims are processed?

Your claims will be processed within 7 days after you have submitted all the required documents.

5. What is the time limit for me to file a claim?

All claims must be submitted to Asia Insurance Co Ltd within 30 days after the occurrence of the event together with the supporting documents.

6. What shall I do if I disagree with a claim decision made?

Tune Protect Travel - AirAsia will advise you in writing of your rights to appeal the claim decision and the procedures for filing an appeal with Asia Insurance Co Ltd.

1. Are there any travel requirements I need to be aware of?

Yes, some countries have specific requirements. We have compiled a list of the summarized regulations for Thailand and Singapore below.

As the travel requirements worldwide continue to change from time to time, there are times when the information stated below might not be up-to-date and may be obsolete at the time you are viewing it.

Therefore, for the latest information on your destination, we strongly encourage you to check the travel restrictions directly with the respective government of your destination country / state prior to purchasing the travel protection from us.

2. Which countries currently have travel requirements?

Thailand

Due to COVID-19, Thailand has imposed several travel restrictions and requirements. All Thai and foreign nationals planning to enter the country must provide the following documentation:

  1. Certificate of Entry (COE) certifying that the person is allowed to enter the Kingdom, issued by the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate.
  2. A Fit to Fly health certificate attesting that the traveler is fit to travel, issued within 72 hours before departure from the first embarkation point. The certificate must be in English.
  3. Medical certificate attesting that the traveler is free from COVID-19, issued within 72 hours from the date of arrival.
  4. An insurance policy that covers healthcare & treatment expenses for COVID-19, with a minimum coverage amount of USD $100,000.

Singapore

  1. Starting 31st January 2021, Singapore requires all visitors to have a travel insurance policy that provides medical coverage for COVID-19 of at least SGD 30,000.The policy can be purchased from any Singapore-based or overseas insurer.
  2. Travellers who are not Singaporean Citizens or Permanent Residents and have recent travel history to high-risk countries/regions are required to take a COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test within 72 hours prior to departure.
  3. Starting 24th January 2021, all travellers including Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents must take a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival in Singapore. They are then required to serve 14 days quarantine upon arrival in Singapore.
  4. Starting 18th January 2021, all returning Singaporean Citizens and Permanent Residents from the United Kingdom and South Africa will be subject to an additional 7-day self-isolation.
