1. Who provides my Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance?

The Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance is issued by Buruj Cooperative Insurance Company licensed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (License No. TMN.28.20105) as a public shareholding company listed on the Saudi stock exchange (Tadawul) with a paid-up capital of SAR.250,000,000 (approx.$ 67,000,000). As an insurance company, Buruj is regulated by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA). In addition, and as a public shareholding company, Buruj is regulated by the Saudi Capital Markets Authority (CMA).

Buruj is a member of the Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) which operates in the Middle East and North Africa including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, and Algeria. The GIG group is a subsidiary of the Kuwait Projects Company (KIPCO), and Fairfax Financial Holdings. KIPCO is one of the largest diversified holding companies in the Middle East and North Africa with consolidated assets of $32 Billion and ownership interests in a portfolio of over 60 companies operating across 24 countries. The insurance cover is designed for the passengers of Air Arabia. The benefits and covers applicable are those provided by Buruj to the passengers of Air Arabia.
2. What is my insurance coverage under the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance?

The policy coverage includes coverage for death or disability (personal accident benefits), emergency medical benefits (accidental and sickness reimbursement), emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, travel inconvenience (loss of travel documents, personal money, delay on arrival, missed departure, travel curtailment), baggage benefits (delay and loss), other related benefits (home away protection, mugging), and 24/7 emergency assistance.

3. When does my coverage begin and end?

The Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance provides cover to match your flight.. A Return Trip is a round trip originating from the Country of Residence travelling into Saudi Arabia and returning back to the Country of Residence.

For a Return Trip, coverage commences upon the Insured crossing Passport Control at the airport of departure on the day of the scheduled Air Arabia flight, travelling into Saudi Arabia, shown on the Certificate of Insurance and up to a maximum of 90 days after commencement Date/Time, or, upon crossing the passport control at the airport in the Country of Residence on the date of the return of the passenger to the Country of Residence, whichever of the two is earlier.
4. Does my insurance coverage enforce an age limit?

Yes. The passengers must be aged between 2 and 75 years at the time of booking a covered Air Arabia flight.
5. Do I need medical examination to purchase this travel insurance?
+
Medical examination is not required. Please note that claims arising from pre-existing medical conditions are excluded. Other exclusions listed in the Policy and the Insurance Certificate of Insurance may also apply to the medical insurance coverage.
6. Can I still purchase TUNE PROTECT if I have a Pre-existing Condition?
+
Yes, however, the Policy has exclusions on Pre-existing Conditions as stated in the policy's full terms and conditions. A "Pre-existing Medical Condition" means any condition from which You or anyone upon whom the Trip depends have suffered from, or received any form of medical advice, treatment or medication within the last twelve months prior to purchasing this insurance Policy.
7. Can I pay extra premium to cover Pre-existing Medical Conditions?

No. There is no option to pay extra premiums to obtain cover for pre-existing medical conditions under the Inbound International Travel Insurance.
8. Can I cancel my Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance coverage?
+
You may cancel the policy coverage if the visa required at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not issued. You should ensure that you follow the time limitations and submit the required evidence as listed in the Cancellation section of your policy coverage document.

If your flight is cancelled by Air Arabia, then your premium is automatically refunded to you by Air Arabia.
9. Is my Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance coverage premium refundable?

If your coverage is cancellable under the Cancellation requirements, then you premium is refunded in full.
10. Do I have to carry a copy of my Certificate of Insurance with me when traveling?
+
We encourage you to do so but you will be covered even if you don’t have the certificate with you during your trip.
11. Am I required to carry any additional documents to proof my purchase when I am traveling?
+
No, your purchase confirmation is printed on your Air Arabia travel itinerary.
12. Where should I indicate my nominee for receiving benefits?
+
The applicable estate administration laws of Your country of citizenship will determine the lawful recipients of your benefits in the event of death or total permanent disability.
13. What happens to my Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel if Air Arabia reschedules my Return Flight?
+
Your coverage is automatically extended to cover you for a period of 3 days beyond your maximum coverage period offered by Your Policy, if your Return Flight is rescheduled by Air Arabia to a later date.
14. What is my maximum coverage period offered by the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance?

We offer coverage based on the travel itinerary booked and the table below will provide an indicative understanding of your maximum coverage period.

3. Can I purchase the Buruj Guard International Travel Insurance if I am not a resident of Saudi Arabia?

Yes. You can purchase the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance even if you are not a resident of Saudi Arabia.
4. If I am travelling with my friend, do we both need to buy separate Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance?

Yes. You need to buy separate covers.
5. How do I purchase a Buruj Inbound International Travel Insurance for my accompanying infant?
+
The cover is not available for passengers under 2 years of age.
6. Can I purchase the Buruj Inbound International Travel Insurance if I am traveling for more than 90 days?

The cover is available for trips between 1-90 days. If your duration of travel is more than 90 days, you should be aware that your coverage will end on the end of the 90th day after the first departure date and time.

1. If a natural disaster occurs in the country that I plan to visit and if I have a Buruj Inbound International Travel Insurance cover, could I cancel my journey and make a claim?

No. The policy does not cover any voluntary trip curtailments due to a natural disaster. Please refer to the full terms and conditions of the policy for more details.

2. Does the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance cover professional sports and other similar or dangerous activities?

No. The policy does not cover professional sports and other similar or other dangerous activities. Please refer to the full terms and conditions of the policy for more details.

3. Can I cancel my flight for any reason and get a refund through my Trip Curtailment Benefit?
+

The Trip Curtailment Benefit is only applicable for the reasons stated in the Terms and Conditions. These are sudden Illness or Accident of an Insured Person, death of close relative, the Insured being called for jury service or as a witness in a court of law, or for unforeseen civil unrest or natural calamities. Indemnity will apply under these cases under the Curtailment cover but the coverage cannot be cancelled.

4. Does my Baggage Benefit cover theft?

Yes. The Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance covers theft and damage due to attempted theft as long as it occurs during your Covered Trip.
5. Are gifts and articles purchased during my trip covered?

Yes. They are covered under the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
6. Am I covered under the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance if I ship my baggage home prior to my scheduled return trip to save costs?

No. The policy does not cover any unaccompanied baggage including luggage that you ship prior or after your scheduled travel.
7. Can the sum insured for baggage and personal effect cover under the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance be increased?
+
No. There is no option under the policy to increase the sum insured for baggage, or any of the other benefits. Nonetheless, you may claim for lost or damaged baggage directly from the airline.
8. What shall I do if I encounter an accident abroad?

9. Can I continue with my medical treatment for injuries sustained overseas when I return home?

Yes. You can continue your treatment as long as the initial treatment is received during the trip and all expenses are incurred within 30 days after the expiry of your Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance and up to the limit stated in the Schedule of Benefits for this benefit.
Claims

1. If I need treatment for an illness during my trip, can I claim for medical, hospital or any other related expenses?
+
Yes. You can claim for your sickness-related medical expenses under the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance if such sickness first occurs during the course of the covered trip.
2. If the Customs Department were to confiscate anything from me, could I make a claim under the Buruj Guard Inbound International Travel Insurance?
+
No. You are not covered for claims arising from confiscation by authorities.
3. How do I file a claim?

Please refer to the “Claim Procedures” and “How to Make a Claim” paragraphs appearing on the Certificate of Insurance and be sure to follow the required procedures. If you do not have the Certificate of Insurance with you at the time of filing a claim, please contact the 24-hour Emergency Assistance numbers listed above. You may also contact Buruj at the contact information shown on your Certificate.

Alternatively, you may download the Claim Form by clicking below and upon completion, please fax and mail the duly completed form and claim supporting documents to the fax number and address stated in the Claim Form.

4. How long does it take before my claims are processed?

Your claim will be processed within 7 working days after you have submitted all the required documents.

5. What is the time limit for me to file a claim?
+
All claims must be submitted using one of the methods listed above within 30 days after the occurrence of the event together with the supporting documents.
6. What if I disagree with a claim decision made?
+
If you disagree with a claim decision made, you have the right to contact Buruj Cooperative Insurance Company to reconsider a claim decision made by the Assistance Company. If not resolved, kindly refer to the paragraph titled “Law and Jurisdiction” found on you Certificate of Insurance and in the terms and conditions of the policy issued to Air Arabia by Buruj Cooperative Insurance Company.
